Today we had a pretty unique experience. We were to start IV lines on each other. For many of us, me included, this was our first time. I have read about it, but it's something completely different to actually do it. Cpt Schumtz was kind enough to lend his arm in the name of science.
I was the very first one of our group to go. You can see how nervous my patient is. Also, it's easy to see that i've never done this before.
Some of my favorite quotes from this clip are. "You're going to want to check the catheter" - nurse "what does that mean " - me.
Then, "You should not be looking at this" - me as i hold the needle up in front of CPT schumtz.
Cpt Baylosis, at the thought of going first.
Cpt Baylosis - after he tried to go first. Notice there is no stick wound on his arm.
